Stothe "Scotty" Peter Kezios
(1967 to 1981)
Dr. Scotty Kezios graduated from Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) in Chicago. He served as an Officer in the U.S. Navy during World War II at Iwo Jima and post-war in Japan. Dr. Kezios served as Professor before becoming the fifth Mechanical Engineering Chair. He retired in 1990 after 23 years at Georgia Tech as the Georgia Power Professor in Mechanical Engineering. From 1977-1978 he served as the 96th President of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
In 2000, Dr. Kezios presented the commemorative plaque to Georgia Tech President G. Wayne Clough when the Woodruff School was named a Mechanical Engineering Heritage Site by ASME.
